Is it just Nashville? We have pumpkin patch trips coming up in the next couple weeks, but it's proving difficult to embrace the incoming season when the highs are still in the 90's. Ninety degrees in mid-September? Hard pass.

Let's just say, I'm struggling to embrace Fall while at the same time anxious for it to arrive which got me thinking about some of the more subtle ways we can add the feelings of Fall to our home without going full on pumpkin patch. Here are a few simple ideas (all found at Target) to take your home from Summer to Fall while we wait for temperatures to catch up to the calendar.

I'm loving all the mustard tones, deep emeralds and amber accents for Fall this year. Swapping out a few throw blankets or adding a couple decorative vases to your mantel in a Fall hue is a great way to begin embracing the new season.

Try a adding a chunky knit blanket like the one pictured here from Target to your favorite reading spot. It'll have you itching to cozy up and sip on some hot tea before you know it. (If you crank up the AC, that is.)

While you're at Target, go ahead and grab a couple of these Amber vases and layer them on your mantel or on the center of your dining table for an instant and easy Fall feel. They even have some smaller amber jars in the Bullseye Spot for a super affordable option. (They'd also be an amazing teacher gift. Just fill the jars with candy, add some twine and call it a day.)

Fall is the perfect time to add in pattern and texture to your home. An always Fall appropriate pattern is plaid. Available in a variety of colors, we can all find a great blanket or throw pillow to add in to our existing decor. A fringe throw like the ones here also add an extra textural detail and would be perfect layered on a blanket ladder.

My favorite way to add texture this time of year is through lots of natural elements. Add a faux plant such as this cutie, a simple Fall wreath or simple cut some branches from your yard to instantly pull the outdoors in and add interest to your home. I especially love the idea of grabbing a great firewood stand and placing a few pieces of chopped wood on it. Not only can it be useful when the weather finally cools down, but it looks great in the meantime.

You can also add other accessories that will work year round, but feel very Fall at the moment such as these tobacco baskets which you can find at lots of home decor shops including Target. Hung on the wall or layered on a coffee table, these natural baskets add interest and can easily be filled with additional season specific accessories.

Try hanging the tobacco basket on the wall with a simple Fall wreath layered over the top or place it on the your dining table and fill it with a couple of the amber jars, some faux greenery and a

Hands down, my favorite way to embrace the Fall season is by filling our home with some amazing Fall-inspired diffuser blends*. The right scents instantly make your house more inviting and oh so welcoming.

*NOTE: If you are still using candles and plug-in and typical store-bought room sprays, STOP. Not only are essential oils better for your home's air quality (you know, the air you and your entire family breath all day and night...yeah, kinda important), but they can also support your emotions, immunity, breathing, sleep and more all while making your house smell like a Fall dream. Awesome, right?!

OK, now that we have that little detail out of the way, let's get to some of my favorite diffuser blends for the upcoming Fall season. Trust me, you'll want to try all of these so starting take notes.
