Let's be real, shall we? Every woman I know enjoys long walks (alone!) down the aisles of Target, but are you a victim of those impulse purchases that leave you slightly disappointed days or weeks later?

I mean, one walk through that Hearth and Hand section and I want to take everything home. Everything. And while everything is likely wonderfully designed, that doesn't mean it's perfect for your home or budget.

Taking your time in selecting items (or using a design board to see everything together first), can allow you to find those perfect items that you'll love for years to come. Affordable stores like Target have great options to help you create a beautifully styled home as long as you don't buy everything on a whim.

Here are some home items from Target that I believe are not only stylish, but worth the money and won't leave you with buyers remorse.

I adore that cane furniture is back in style. It reminds me of something my grandmother would love, but in an updated, fresh way. Cane and other woven furniture (think wicker  and rattan) can add a vintage twist to your room and much needed natural texture.

The clean lines and texture of this piece make it an instant focal point to any room, but my love for this TV stand lies in it's ability to be used all over your house. Of course it can be utilized as a TV stand, but it would work equally as well as a small space entry table or sofa table.

Not a fan of this light wood tone? This piece would also look amazing with a coat of white paint.

Another lovely piece from Target's Opalhouse line, this navy desk is gorgeous and would work great in a home office. I imagine pairing it with a graphic feature wall (another current design trend) painted in the same navy color for a bold focal point that would make working a little more fun and a lot more inspiring.

The gold bamboo pulls pop off the navy color beautifully while the carved details of the legs add interest. The open, airy design of this desk would allow it to work well in small spaces while adding big style.

I'm convinced this chair would look great in almost any room. With a clean, mid century modern style and a touch of vintage charm, this chair can easily work in a farmhouse inspired room or a minimal Scandinavian design.

Offered in three neutral upholstery options, the Esters Wood Arm Chair could shuffle room to room by simply switching out your accent pillows. Any furniture item that can be used throughout your home is far less likely to become a regretted purchase. Bedroom in need of an update? Borrow this chair from the living space to bring new interest and life to your sleeping space.

The wood tone featured on this chair will add warmth to your room and will pair nicely with a variety of wood tones. And no, friend, your wood tones don't all need to match. A mixture will make your home more interesting and will feel like the pieces were collected over time rather than purchased in one lump. (Let's not buy a full room set of furniture. Mix and match is always the way to go.)

I'm obsessed with this dome light by Leanne Ford + Project 62 for Target. So clean, simple and versatile, this pendant lamp could work in a variety of spaces with a variety of styles. It comes in black, white, and bronze so you can be as daring as you want.

Nervous to have a large pendant featured in your dining room? Select the white option rather than the bold black or bronze. Ready for a bit of drama? Go with black.

This metal dome light would be an easy way to make a big style impact in your space while infusing a touch of modern design without breaking your budget. Sometimes the unexpected modern piece can be just what your space needs to elevate it to the next level.

Ready to give it a try?

You know I had to include a Hearth and Hand item, right? This wood and brass wire tray is a perfect decorative item to pick up on your next vacation, I mean, trip to Target.

I love using a tray centered on a dining table to house a vase full of flowers plus some other decorative items, but it's equally as wonderful to use on an entry table or ottoman. Even when used to contain a bit of house clutter, a tray like this can add style to an otherwise messy space.

Place it in your living room with a small plant and use it to hold your remotes or create a lovely moment for your guests by placing it on the guest bed when they arrive. Add a couple bottles of water, a small frame containing the wi-fi password and a bowl of mints for a welcome any friend or family member would appreciate.

While there are many (MANY!) more Target items I could add to this post, these 5 items are at the top of my favorites list. If you're interested in any of them, click the photo to go to the Target page to see more details.

Oh, and please act surprised if you ever visit my home and spot one (or five) of these items. Thanks, friend!
