Holy S&*#, We Bought A House?!

Umm, well….

We shared the photo above on Friday to let everyone in on our secret and on Monday (today), we’re officially under contract on a house in St Pete. HOLY CRAP.

As I shared in this announcement post, this hasn’t been a quick or spontaneous plan. We’ve been truly working towards moving to the ocean for years, but only in September did we realize that St Pete was the place.

In December we told the kids and I started stalking St Pete real estate online.

In January we talked with someone about renting out our Nashville home starting in June.

We assumed we’d start trying to buy a St Pete house in late March or April, but instead, we spotted one on Friday (right after our a big announcement.)

On Saturday we put in an offer assuming we’d likely lose out being that it was our first offer in the crazy St Pete housing market.

And as of 10:57am today, we’re under contract on a four bedroom home in our top neighborhood choice in St Petersburg, FL.

[insert head explosion emoji here]

So, anyone interested in seeing our new (assuming there’s no major issues on the home inspection) home??? Scroll through the images below to check out the 4 bedroom 2 bath home as it is now and then check out a few starter concept boards for the overall vibe I want to create for this new home.

Hint: Color, Color, Color.

I’m excited to be able to share this home’s transition with you especially since it will take time. Our budget won’t allow us to overhaul the entire house immediately, but the design aesthetic I’m going for is extremely different than its current vibe. This should be a great example of how your home can evolve over time (and how you can make almost any home work for you) so I hope you’ll follow along!

If I had to come up with a style name for the look I hope to achieve I think it would be: Vintage Modern Eclectic

(But those are just words, friends, so who the heck really knows.)

Closing is scheduled for March 31st so sometime in April will be the first time I drive into this neighborhood and the first time I see this home in real life. (No pressure, little house.)

Wish us luck, friends!
