How to Love Your Home Again (without spending a penny): Part Three

Unfollow.

Welcome to Part Three of our How to Love Your Home Again (without spending a penny) Blog Series! I hope you conquered some editing already, but if not, put a date on the calendar to get it done. Today we’re bouncing back to some mindset things.

Missed parts One & Two? Jump to them here and here.

Let’s be honest, friend. How much of our social media consumption is serving us well?

I think it’s safe to say, not the majority.

If you are following accounts on Instagram or elsewhere that are interiors focused I need you to ask yourself if those accounts are helping you feel inspired or if they are making your home feel inferior.

If they are making you and your home feel less-than, UNFOLLOW.

If they are making you feel the need to spend money you don’t currently have to spend, UNFOLLOW.

If they make you feel bitter in any way, UNFOLLOW.

We can absolutely control what we consume and you owe it to yourself to consume more of what inspires you and less of what causes envy. The next time you find yourself scrolling, pause and unfollow as needed to create a healthy space for yourself.

Also, as I’m 3+ weeks into my social media break, I can honestly say stepping away all together for a short season can be so hugely beneficial to our mental states (not to mention for a productivity). Try challenging yourself to a week off socials and see what impact it makes in your day to day life.

Is this something you’ve noticed you struggling with? (Comparison, envy, feelings of inferiority). Comment and let’s chat about it.

We’ve got 4 more installments of this Love Your Home Again Series so be sure to keep popping back over to the Lovely Blog so you don’t miss a thing.
